Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been a huge success in the US and every elsewhere despite the fact most viewers enjoyed the movie and thought it was fun. Many viewers enjoyed the movie for number of reasons. First it had a happy ending. Second, it successfully satirized the number of aspects of the real world. Third, it showed that there was a moral high ground. According to a box office update via Deadline, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has almost reached $300 million in global earnings. In comparison, the original banked $319.7 million worldwide, which means the blue blur's second movie is currently on track to surpass this amount. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 surpassed the domestic box office total of the first Sonic the Hedgehog film, officially making the sequel the highest domestic grossing movie based on a video game of all time. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, it stars Ben Schwartz reprising his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog Schwartz reprising his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey.
